Extreme Surfing – Welcome to Newport Wedge [Pic's]

The Dirty ol’ Wedge is a world-famous surfing, bodyboarding and bodysurfing spot located at the extreme south end of the Balboa Peninsula in Newport Beach, California. When conditions are just right an approaching wave will reflect off a groin creating a second “side wave”. The reflected wave meets up with the following wave of the set and forms the mother of all peaks. This spot is not for the faint of heart and has been known to maim and kill.
